Sambourne Asherah - was 16.2hh at 3 years of age - and came 1st and 3rd at her first ever show as a 3 year old. She is out of Poppy and by Jim Bob born in 2016 and is a full sister to Sambourne Arianna, Sambourne Dana and a half sister to Sambourne Achelois. Sambourne Asherah is just about to start her training for eventing/showjumping.
Sambourne Arianna is by Jim Bob and out of Poppy and at two years of age was standing at 16.3hh Currently enjoying life as a baby. Very laid back gentle giant Sambourne Arianna is a full sister to Sambourne Asherah and Sambourne Dana and then a half sister to Sambourne Achelois.
Sambourne Anubis aka Albie is by Jim Bob and out of Montego Breeze and will make over 16hh and was born in 2018. He has a lovely and sweet temperament and nature. He has completed an in hand show, came 3rd in 2018 foals and 3rd in natural turn out. He is currently working on stop, start, backing up and direct rein on the ground of course. Noodles was a 15.3hh 2002 part bred Bay Thoroughbred mare with an unknown pedigree. It is believed she was an eventer who suffered a hind leg injury curtailing her sporting career. A beautiful laid back mare, so easy going and had manners to burn.
Noodles had been with the Stud for a number of years having had several foals to Jim Bob and is a great broodmare with a beautiful nature and an absolutely gem to have. Sadly Noodles was put to sleep on 2nd January 2023 following a bout of colic and being cast in the stable for the second time in three days. The vet treated her with Buscopan, laxative and gave her an injection of Bute which should have alleviated the symptoms but she kept lying down and the vet concluded what we were seeing was a secondary symptom to something far more primary and was more than likely to be cancer. Despite hoping her symptoms would settle there was no let up in her continual lying down in the stable and she became cast two more times. A decision was made to end her suffering and put her to sleep. I will so miss her but Noodles had some seriously talented foals who will carry her wonderful legacy on. It was a privilege to have her and even more of delight to have been instrumental in her producing some of the best foals we have ever bred. Rest in peace Noodles.
Montego Breeze (Tego) is a 16.1hh Bay 2006 Registered Weatherbys Thoroughbred Mare by Tipsy Creek out of a mare by Mtoto and is a sister to Lissadell Romance.
Tego had a racing career which resulted in little success and was placed once. She is a lovely super mare to handle and has such a sweet temperament with excellent confirmation. Very sadly, on veterinary and farrier advice, my beautiful Tego was put to sleep on Wednesday 1 November 2023. Tego went lame at the start of Spring which a few foot infections but she continued to be lame throughout the Summer yet there was no foot infection. Vet advice was to give her the Summer and enjoy the sun and grass and to put her to sleep at the start of the Winter. I promised her the Summer and that was what I gave her. We will miss her terribly but hope her progeny will do her proud and carry on her legacy.
Sadly Esther had a stable accident which resulted in her breaking her leg on Sunday 5th February 2023 and was subsequently put to sleep. We can only hope her progeny do her proud, as I am sure they will. We loved her dearly and am so glad we had her for the time we did. Esther was a 15.1hh Registered Thoroughbred Mare born in 2015 by Kodiac out of a mare by Rock of Gibraltar so had a fantastic pedigree.
Esther raced as a two year old but was not very successful and her owners decided she should come to us as a broodmare to live out the rest of her life. She is a very cheeky - in your face type of mare, but so sweet with an adorable personality. Esther has a beautiful skewbald filly foal to Sambourne Kratos on the 15th May 2022 called Sambourne Themis. Esther to date has had coloured foals with the self same beautiful laid back temperament that she has.
BB Butterfly is a 16.1hh registered 2001 Irish Sports Horse with an unknown pedigree and was a really good eventer. However she suffered a injury which meant she could no longer jump and her owners decided to compete at dressage. She was very successful and got to intermediate level. Lovely mare, so easy to handle and look after and has striking quality foals. BB very sadly had a stillborn coloured colt foal on Friday 10th February 2023 and seemed to recover well from the ordeal. However, the next morning she clearly was not well and the vet confirmed she had Sepsis and a heart breaking decision was made to put her to sleep. BB was super talented and passed this on to every single foal she had which were mostly colts apart from two fillies, one of which was Leah who we had for a short time before putting her to sleep on specialist vet advice due to massive and numerous sarcoids. We know her progeny will do her proud passing on that talent to the next generation. What a privilege to have had such a super mare.
